About Driftlantern
A weekly newsletter and podcast built for readers and listeners in west Hamilton, and an advertising sheet for the businesses that want to reach them.
Who we are
Driftlantern started as a weekly email covering what was happening around Westdale and Dundas, and grew into a newsletter and podcast operating as SociallyInfused Media LTD. We publish local happenings, interviews and neighbourhood updates, and we sell a small, fixed set of advertising placements to fund that work.
We are a small, focused operation: one editorial voice across the newsletter and podcast, and one advertising rate card. We do not run a large sales team or chase every business in Hamilton — our aim is a steady, recognisable presence in the west end.

What we do
We publish a weekly newsletter and a regular podcast about west Hamilton, and we sell three advertising formats built around them: a newsletter mention, a podcast episode sponsorship, and a combined partnership package. See the full rate card for prices and details.
- Neighbourhood Notes Mention — a sponsor line in one newsletter edition.
- Rail Trail Sessions Sponsorship — presenting credit on one podcast episode.
- West End Partnership — a four-week combined package.
Where we are
Our office sits at 1 West Avenue S, Suite 304, Hamilton, ON L8N 2R9, on the same short West Avenue South block as a handful of other small local operations. Our coverage runs through Westdale, Dundas, Ainslie Wood, the McMaster campus edge and the households along the Rail Trail — that is the readership advertisers reach when they book with us.
If you would rather speak with us in person or by phone, visit our contact page for the full requisites and office hours. Our working days are Monday to Friday, and messages sent outside those hours are answered on the next business day.
Who provides the services
Editor & publisher
Writes and edits the weekly newsletter, sets the editorial calendar and reviews every sponsor mention before it runs.
Podcast producer
Records and edits each episode, schedules guests and manages the sponsorship reads and episode page.
Advertising coordinator
Handles bookings, copy review timing and the reports sent back to advertisers after a placement runs.

How we work
Consistency
The newsletter goes out on the same day each week and each episode follows the same production steps, so advertisers know what a placement will look like.
Editorial separation
Advertising bookings never influence what our newsroom decides to cover.
Plain reporting
We tell advertisers exactly what ran and when, using the open counts and listen summaries described in the rate card — nothing more, nothing invented.
On pricing
All three placements are priced on the services page and do not vary by advertiser. We keep it that way so a small Dundas shop and a larger campus-area business pay the same published rate for the same format.
